Envolve LLC’s wellness program holds a two-part Breast Cancer Awareness Challenge
MEMPHIS, TN — Envolve LLC, one of the country’s largest affordable multifamily property owners and managers, held a two-part “FIGHT for Breast Cancer Awareness Challenge” throughout October 2021. This month-long initiative was part of the company’s Envolve Wellness Program, and both residents and employees were invited to participate.
The first challenge was boxing-based. Envolve’s Wellness Coach, Travis Hill, sent out videos of himself performing the “Boxing Combo of the Week” in the companywide Wellness Wednesday emails. Envolve Wellness participants were asked to send back videos of themselves showing off these boxing moves in order to be entered into a drawing. Everyone had an opportunity to submit four videos (one per week in October). The winner, Brittany Butler (an Accounting Supervisor based out of Envolve’s Memphis office), received a pair of boxing gloves and a $250 donation to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation in her name.
The second part was a companywide walkathon. Upon signing up for the Envolve Wellness Program, residents and employees downloaded the associated app and integrated their step-counting devices of choice (such as FitBits or Apple Watches). Then they were all set to log as many steps as they could during the allotted time period. After the walkathon ended, the Get Envolved Foundation made a corresponding donation to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation—$1 per mile walked, which totaled to $500 because nearly one million steps were taken!
“Breast cancer affects 1 out of every 8 women, which is an overwhelming statistic,” said Crystal Canerdy, VP of Training & Marketing. “As a breast cancer survivor, this donation to further research the disease means so much to me and will benefit so many, hopefully resulting in numerous lives being saved. It’s wonderful to work for a company that supports its employees, residents, and communities—and this is just a sampling of the generosity at Envolve. Giving back is what we do every day in some fashion or another!”
“We’re thankful to everyone who participated because this cause is near and dear to the hearts of so many in the Envolve family,” said Daniel Hughes, Chairman & CEO of Envolve LLC. “Stay tuned as we continue to Get Envolved!”
